Geological and Geotechnical Investigations <br /> <br />The geological investigations will include at least one site visit by a <br />qualified engineering geologist. Due to the lack of detailed infonnation <br />on subsurface geology at the site, several exploration holes will be <br />drill ed and logged as part of thi s phase of the study. A prociJct of thi s <br />visit will include a detailed report on surface and subsurface geologic and <br />geotechni cal condi ti ons. The report will al so identi fy potenti al borrow <br />areas. <br /> <br />C. Water Quality Investigations <br /> <br />A water quality sampling program will be initiated to establish base- <br />line water quality data and establish the suitability of basin supplies for <br />municipal use. Existing data will be used whenever possible. Water <br />qual i ty parameters whi ch may exceed the treatnent capabil i ti es of the <br />existing treatment facilities of the Cucharas Sanitation and Water District <br />will be identified and potential treatnent processes presented. <br /> <br />D. Operations Studies <br /> <br />Operation studies will be conducted to evaluate optimum storage levels <br />and potential yields for municipal and agricultural applications.
