<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The present site is preferable, strategically to the other sites; it will result in less pumping costs; <br />and permits initial capital savings in the range of $1.0 million. <br /> <br />With further development, when normal high day water demands are expected to exceed 0.8 <br />MGD (peak days to 1.0 MGD), additional capacity will be required. Depending on location of <br />new development, this additional capacity would be best provided at the present plant site <br />(Altemate C-1) or the higher site (Alternate C-3). A key point is that the decision need not be <br />made now; the selection between Alternate C-1 and C-3 can be better evaluated at a later date <br />- and will not affect design of the initial construction program. <br /> <br />D. TREATED WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM <br /> <br />Pressure Zones <br />The existing 200,000 gallon water storage tank has a high water level elevation of 6,021.25 feet. <br />This is the present hydraulic control for the water system, and Morrison now operates on this one <br />pressure zone. <br /> <br />Pressure zones design must be interrelated, and consider the entire service area. It is <br />economical to minimize the number of pressure zones (since each zone usually requires a <br />separate storage tank and pump station). On the other hand, multiple zones are required where <br />the service area has a large elevation differential in order to maintain adequate pressures. <br />Reasonable pressure design criteria for Morrison follows. <br /> <br />Minimum Pressure <br /> <br />Normal <br />40 psi <br /> <br />Absolute <br />30 psi <br /> <br />Maximum Pressure <br /> <br />110 psi <br /> <br />130 psi <br /> <br />Since the lower Town commercial area now experiences over 110 psi static pressure, it would <br />not be practical to raise the base zone very far. The present pressure zone was developed in <br />accordance with the original Master Plan('); further the Mt. Carbon tank has been sited to <br />function within this pressure zone. <br /> <br />To summarize, there is no logic nor reason which would justify change of the present base <br />pressure zone. <br /> <br />It will be necessary to create at least one additional higher pressure zone in order to serve the <br /> <br />70-0S0.035:MSTR-PLN <br /> <br />111-19 <br />
