The borrower is a Special District serving 4 small existing subdivisions that have 75 homes
within a 960-acre service area. The project is needed because wells are going dry. The aquifers in the area
of Chatfield South are thin, and water levels have dropped significantly over the past 20 years. Without
the project, residents will be forced to haul water for drinking and for irrigation purposes. Patrick Mulhern,
P.E. and Joseph Rottman P.E. have completed initial engineering under whose direction a draft feasibility
study and initial design work has been completed. The project will consist of a trunk pipeline connecting
to Denver Water conduit #10, approximately 21,000 feet of distribution water line looping through
subdivisions in the service area, and individual taps for each lot. Construction is scheduled to start in April
1998 and to be completed in August 1998. Funding sources consist ofaCWCB loan, a loan from another
agency yet to be determined, and a special assessment of the homeowners.

Location Map
