Identify Seepaqe Areas

The areas of the dike and d~m that are experiencing
seepage will be identified and those locations referenced to
the crest contour surve~. To be most effective a field
inspection to identify anc locate the seeps should be aCCGm-
plished while the reservoir is full.

Corrective Action

This item ~ill recuire the most work and is the most
important aspect of the analysis. The previous step will
show where the seeps are; some of the seeps will not require
a~y action, some may require monitoring, and some will
require immediate repairs. The south dike has the highest
priority because lack o~ repairs will result in reduced
reservoir storage in 198,.

Essentially, the entire length of the south dike will
require some sort of repai.. A plan will be developed to
reduce and/or contrel the seepage from the dike. Methods
such as an upstream cutoff wall, drainage blanket, etc., will
be investigatec:. The secUon of the dike which inoludes tile
0.1 cfs sprina wi:l probablY require more extensive repairs.
The 2NGI~EER will formulate a method to repair the south
dike, develop designs, and prepare dra~ings for the repairs.
SOffi0 testing may be required, such as, materials available
:or re,?airs.

The west dike is ge~erJlly in bette= condition than the
south dike. Onl~ certain sections will require repairs. As
~ith the south dike, thE E~GINE:R wil! prepare plans and
designs for the necessary repairs. There does not appear to
be an i~ediate need to rS~2ir the west dike so a schedule
...;ill be proposed that Vlol:ld allow the Company to accomplis::
the repairs over the ~ext few years.

Topography of the dikes will be requirec to accomplish
the designs. Since no topcgraphic maps or the correct scale
are available the ground below the south dike and selected
sections of the west dike will have to be surveyed.

All repairs ~ust be approved by th~ State Engineer's
office. The EnGINEER shu~l be responsible :or subI:1itting
plans and for obta~ning approvals from the State Engineer.

Monitoring and Inscection ?roqram

The ENGINEER will prepare a monitoring and inspection
program. The monitori~s program will involve measurement 0:
the amount of seepage from the dam and dikes which wil: be
~ccomplished through the drains and measuring flumes that
will be install0d as purt of the repair prograI:1.
