<br />EXPLANATION OF INSTAllATION COSTS <br /> <br />The estimated, proJect installation cost is $4,316,170. This cost, is <br />composed of land treatment measures estimated at $902,150 and structural <br />measures estimated at $3,414,020. ProJect installation costs are shown <br />in Table I. <br /> <br />Land Treatment Measures <br /> <br />The installation costs of measures to be applied are based on present <br />unit costs for each practice and are estimated at $890,450 over the <br />five year proJect period. landowners and operators will furnish funds <br />and equipment estimated at $902, l50 to apply these measures. Most of <br />the measures are eligible for cost-sharing from funds available under <br />the Great Plains Cons~rvation and other programs. Included in the <br />above, the landowners and operators by agreement with the Colorado <br />Division of Wildlife will create and manage about 514 acres of wildlife <br />habitat management. Five hundred acres will be on farms and ranches and <br />14 acres along floodways at an estimated cost of $3,550. Also included <br />is the agreement of the ColQrado Division of Wildlife to provide wild- <br />life food and covering plantings estimated at $500 on five acres of <br />shelterbelt along,Floodway I crossing the Sedgwick Bar State Wildlife <br />Area and to provide for Wildlife Area Management estimated at $1,000. <br /> <br />I'-i-r-e--con,t-ro-l--i-n-tens i f i C3 t-ion--t-tH--eugh--t-fle-J"-ura'I--f-i-re-con-tTO-l---d+s't-r+ct-s- -, - <br />will amount, to $10,000 in Nebraska and $33, lOO in Colorado. Forty <br />acres of tree plantings estimated at $4,000 will be done in Nebraska., <br />Funds will be provided by the Nebraska State and Extension Forester and, <br />Colorado ,State Forester in cooperation wi th U. S. Forest Service under <br />.regular continuing program. <br /> <br />Funds for technical assistance are estimated at $52,600. 'These funds <br />($49,100) will be provided by the Soil Conservation Service to the <br />Sedgwick County Soi I Conservation District in Colorado ($35,000) and <br />to the South Platte Natural Resources District in Nebraska ($14,100). <br />Funds for technical assistance for fire control and forestry are esti- <br />mated at $1,500 in Nebraska and $500 in Colorado. These funds will be <br />provided through cooperative agreements with the U.S. Forest Service. <br /> <br />In addition, P.l. 566 funds wili provide $1,500 for accelerated techni- <br />cal assistance for fire control intensification in Colorado., <br /> <br />43 <br />
