actual debt which will be incurred by using concrete lined ditch. It will cost

the stockholders substantially more to go with this alternative.

Using an earthen ditch over pipe or concrete lining also increases the amount

of time it takes to deliver water to the shareholders. Dut to the increased

friction and surface roughness, this means, that service time to the shareholders

will not improve substantially. It has been the purpose of this feasibility study

to recommend alternatives which increase the benefits to the users which include

service time and this alternative does not. In addition, the availability and

cost of equipment to maintain the ditch, weather factors, and the training of

qualified personnel affect this alternativ~ negatively.
