<br />Section 11. TO establish, support and regulate night

<br />section 17. To license, tax and regulate hackneys,
<br />carriages, wagons, carts, drays, and fix the rates to .be
<br />charged for the conveyance of persons, and for wagonage,
<br />cartage and drayage of property.

<br />Section 18. To license and regulate porter$' rates of
<br />porter~ge.

<br />Section 19. To license, tax and regulate theatrical and
<br />other exhibitions, shows and amusements.

<br />Section 20. To license, restrain, regulate, prohibit
<br />and suppress tippling-houses, dram-shops, gambling houses,
<br />bawdy-houses and other disorderly houses, and the selling
<br />and giving away any intoxicating or malt liquors, by any
<br />person, within the limits of the corporation, except duly
<br />licensed.

<br />Section 21. To provide for the prevention and extinguish-
<br />ment of fires, to arrange and establish fire-companies, and
<br />to regulate or prohibit wooden buildings in any part of the
<br />corporation.

<br />section 22. To regulate the construction of chimneys,
<br />and regulate the flues thereof.
<br />
<br />Section 23. To regulate the storage of gunpowder, tar,
<br />pitch, resin, and other combustible materials.
<br />
<br />Section 24. To regulate parapet wells and partition
<br />fences, and restrain cattle, hogs, horses, Sheep and dogs
<br />from running at large.
