Topographic Survey and Surface Inspection. A survey was completed for the

project site including the embankment and spillway. A dam inspection was

performed to include the reservoir, embankment, spillway, and outlet works.

3. Geotechnical and Geologic Investigation. Subsurface exploration and
laboratory testing of the embankn1ent dam and foundations, and preliminary
geotechnical evaluations of the stability and seepage of the embankment were
performed.

4. Hydrologic Analysis. The IOO-year and the general and local probable maximum

flood events were computed for the project, which were used to the perform

hydrologic reservoir routings and to determine the hazard classification of the

dam.

5. Dam Hazard Classification. The dam is presently classified as a Class II dam.
The hazard classification was verified based on SEO guidelines. The hazard
classification of the dam will dictate the SEO required dam modifications.

6. Hydrologic Routing. The hydrologic routing for the dam was performed to

determine the impacts of the flood hydrology on the existing and proposed dam

configurations.

7. Alternative Development. Several alternatives were developed in an attempt to

identify the least costly combination of measures for achieving the project

objectives.

8. Study Report. A report was prepared to formalize the results and

recommendations of all tasks performed for the study.

9. Monument Lake Chronologicalliistory. The history of the lake and dam were
developed from existing records from the County, Town, and SEO.

Monument Lake Dam Feasibility Study
