The Contractor shall not commence work under this contact <br />until it shall have obtained all insurance required under this <br />paragraph and such insurance shall have been approved by the <br />State, nor shall the Contractor allow any subcontractor to <br />commence work on Its subcontract unt i1 all insurance required of <br />the subcontractor shall have been so obta ined and approved. Workers' Compensation Insurance: The Contractor and <br />each subcontractor or consultant shall carry workers' <br />compensation insurance to cover liability under the workers' <br />compensation laws of the State of Colorado as respects <br />operations of the Contractor, and each consultant or <br />subcontractor, performE:d in connection with the contract. <br />This insurance shall bn set forth in separate certificates <br />for the Contractor and each subcontractor or consultant.. <br />This requirement is waived for those employers, which by law <br />are not required to ca~ry Workers' Compensation Insurance. <br /> <br />B. liability Insurance: The Contractor shalt maintaln tn <br />effect, to the extent that such insurance Is available at <br />reasonable cost, employer's liability, professional <br />liability, comprehenslve general lidbility (bodiiy injury <br />and property damage), and comprehensive automobile lidbilitl' <br />(bodily injury and property damage) insurance with respect <br />to employees and vehicles of the Contractor assigned to the <br />prosecution of work under this contract tn a maximum amount <br />of not less than $15,000,000. The Contractor will supply to <br />the .State a certificate of each such insurance and any <br />subs.equent renewals, f'ach of which must contain the. <br />following provIsions (to provide the indicated protection to <br />the State): <br /> <br />"The State of Colorad(~, acting by and through the Colorado <br />Water Conservation BOilrd (hereinafter 'the State'), is a <br />named. insured for all coverages (including automobile) <br />provtded by this poli,~y of general comprehensive insurance <br />and shall be fully anci completely protected to the extent <br />provided in satd poll.~y for any and every injury, death, <br />damage and loss of any sort sustained by any person, <br />organization or corporatlon in connecti_on with any activity <br />performed by the Contractor (except for professional <br />ltability) by virtue of the provisions of that contract <br />between the, State and R. W. Beck and !\ssociates, for <br />Professional ServIces, for the feasibility study of the Una <br />Reservoir dated December 1, 1981.
