Review regional geology, seismicity and fault locations <br />and interpret aerial photographs with respect to <br />regional features such as lineaments, faulting, etc. <br />Conduct preliminary seismic hazard evaluation <br />investigations if necessary. <br /> <br />h. Prepare and submit to the State a report on the results <br />of site inspections and geotechnical investigations. <br />Coring drilling shall not be permitted unles5 approved <br />in advance by the State. <br /> <br />Task 6 - Surveys <br /> <br />data. <br /> <br />This work task shall be conducted to supplement existing <br />In carrying out this work task, the Contractor shall: <br /> <br />a. Prepare a program for surveying and mapping, which <br />program shall not be init i ated unt il approved by the <br />State. <br /> <br />b. Prepare a topographic map or maps of selected areas at <br />the dam site to supplement existing mapping where <br />required. <br /> <br />c. Obtain aerial photographs (in color and in black and <br />white) of the project area for field and office use. <br /> <br />d. Bring in third order vertical, and second or third order <br />horizontal, survey control to the dam and appurtenances <br />area from state highway data in order to tie in USBR <br />mapping with respect to 1-70 construction and railroad. <br />Set a permanent baseline control monument on either <br />abutment of the dam. <br /> <br />e. Obtain spot elevations and locations where potential <br />interference problems with existing facilities have been <br />identified. <br /> <br />f. Conduct a preliminary location survey of project <br />features including dam, spillway and powerhouse. <br /> <br />g. Provide sufficient control to facilitate location of <br />geotechnical exploration features such as seismIc <br />traverses, test pits, auger borings, etc. <br /> <br />h. Obtain a sufficient number of c.ross-sectlons of the <br />river channel downstream from the proposed power plant <br /> <br />-5- <br />
