II. STORAGE REQUIREMENT FOR PLt\NT Wt\TER SUPPLY

With water supply sources dependable for daily plant operation taken

from the Yampa River, the Yampa Project will withdraw the stored water

from the Elkhead Creek Reservoir only during extreme low flows in the

I

Yampa River. A separate study concluded that a maximum 90-day storage

may be needed for the plant operation approximately once in every thirty

I

years, or a chance of occurring about 3 percent per year.
