Greenm:m <br />City Attorney Alan Jensen <br /> <br />There being a quorum present, Mayor Iewis calle::l the meeting to order. <br /> <br />An Invocation was given by Cbuncilrran Pritchard and the Pledge of Allegiance <br />was recited. <br /> <br />The Special Cbwx:il M=eting was called by Mayor Iewis to consider a resolution <br />authorizing the City Manager to request an increase in the rronetaIy anount of <br />the City's contract with the Cblorado Water Cbnservation Board for use in oom- <br />pletion of water distribution projects. <br /> <br />Cbuncilrran Stuart !lOved approval of Resolution N::l. 1685, Authorizing the City <br />Cbuncil to AIrend O:lntract N::l. C-153397 between the City of Manitou Springs and <br />the Cblorado Water Cbnservation Board to Request an Additional $100,000 for <br />Water Distribution Improverrents. O:luncilrran Pritchard secomed the rrotion. <br /> <br />The City Manager stated the City's rratch for the fund will be taken from the <br />sewer fund and a water rate increase is not anticipated at the present time. <br />Mr. King stated the additional $100,000 loan from the state will be at the same <br />interest rate as the previous loans and a new repayment sche::lule will be drawn <br />up for the total $1,200,000 the City will be bo=wing. Mr. King stated <br />Section 1 of the resolution should be amended auth::>rizing only the Mayor to <br />request the additional funds. Mr. King stated the estim3.te for the Canon Avenue <br />(Little SWitzerland) Project is $60,000 which includes running a line up Canon <br />Avenue to just imrrediately on the other side of the highway by either following <br />the sewer eaSerrEnt or an eaSerrEnt that would have to be obtained from the <br />Highway Depari:lrent. Mr. King stated a connecting line would then run straight <br />up the hill to where the 4 inch line intercepts. Mr. King stated an 8 inch <br />line will be installed to the other side of the highway am a 6 inch line <br />installed to the Little SWitzerland area. Mr. King stated this is a !lOre <br />economical way to go than toring through the highway and it will also impact <br />6 rrore houses than toring through the highway w:>uld. Mr. King stated the new <br />line will impact everyone west of Canon Avenue and the $60,000 will include 3 <br />
