General location of the proposed project (include county and approximate distance from the <br />neazest town or city): <br />The project is in Montezuma County between the Towns of Dolores and Mancos. <br />' 9. Please provide a brief narrative description of the proposed project including purpose, need, <br />facilities, types of water use to be served , and service area. Attach additional pages, maps, or <br />dcawings as needed. <br />' <br />, <br />, <br />' <br />' <br />The Company has been working with the Soil Conservation Service to assess the condition of the <br />Company water collection, storage and delivery system. SCS has prepazed a preliminary report <br />of the findings which was used to a large extent to prepare this pre-application. The proposed <br />work includes: improvement of collection ditches on steep slopes; improvement of the diversion <br />structures from the creeks; improvement of the ditches between reservoirs; installation of two <br />drop structures; installation of two measurement flumes; possible replacement of a delivery ditch <br />with a pipe to provide sprinkler pressure; replacement of an old wood stave siphon; replacement <br />of the gate and lining of the outlet pipe at Summit Reservoir (as directed by the Dam Safety <br />Engineer); and other work necessary to maintain the system. <br />10. Please list any preliminary analysis or investigations which have been done or aze in progress <br />for the proposed project along with the names of the consultants who prepazed the analysis: <br />, The Company is using Hazris Water Engineering, Inc. to prepaze a feasibility report, largely <br />based on the SCS evaluations.
