<br /> <br />,. <br /> <br />..---- <br />~ <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Contract: Dames & Moore <br />January 18, 1982 <br /> <br />EXHlaIT B <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />Introduction <br /> <br />Section 7 of Senate Bill 43~, 1981 Session, authorized the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Boarq (CWCB) to conduct a feasibility <br />study of the Hardin Dam project, the expenditures for which are <br />not to exceed $300,000. <br /> <br />Study Objectives <br /> <br />The objective of this study is to evaluate, at an appraisal <br />level of detail, the engineering and economic feasibility of the <br />Hardin Dam project, including pO~ential hydroelectric facilities. <br /> <br />The study shall analyze alt~rnative dam and reservoir <br />sizes. Also analyses of alterna~ive reservoir operations shall <br />be performed to reflect the rang~ of alternative reservoir <br />sizings. A range of reasonable ~ssumptions about the future <br />status of senior conditional dec~ees shall be made for the <br />purpose of these analyses. <br /> <br />Study Area <br /> <br />The dam and reservoir shall be located on the mainstem of <br />the South platte River upstream Qf the Town of Masters and <br />downstream from the City of Greeley. In determining potential <br />uses for the water developed by the project, either directly or <br />through exchange, consideration ~hall be given to uses located in <br />any portion of the South Platte niver Basin whiCh lies below <br />Chatfield Dam. Diversions to th~ Republican River Basin shall <br />not be considered. <br /> <br />Conduct of the Study <br /> <br />The study shall be carried' Qut by the Contractor under the <br />general guidance and direction of the State. In carrying out the <br />study, the Contractor shall perfQrm the major activities <br />specified below. Although liste~ sequentially, it is understood <br />that some activities will be carried out simultaneously and that <br />some activities will be iterativ~. The Contractor will <br />coordinate work activities to in$ure efficient and timely <br />completion of all project tasks. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall make every possible use of existing <br />data and information before perfQrming any original data <br />collection, analyses or field wo~k. Field work shall be <br />minimized. Core drilling will n~t be performed unless approved <br />in advance in writing by the State. <br />
