Any special inspection or audit shall, except <br />in a case of emergency, be made after written notice to the Contractor and the <br />actual cost thereof shall be paid by the Contractor to the United States. <br /> <br />(b) If deemed necessary by the Contracting Officer or requested by <br />the Contractor, special inspections of any Project works being operated by the <br />Contractor and of the Contractor's books and records may be made to ascertain <br />the extent of any operation and maintenance deficiencies, to determine the <br />remedial measures required for their correction, and to assist the Contractor <br />in solving specific problems. During the performance of the work pursuant to this contract, the <br /> <br />Contractor shall maintain books ot account for this contract separate and <br /> <br />apart from any other of its books of account and so keep them and all other <br /> <br />books, records, and memoranda which support in any way the entries in such <br /> <br />books of account so as to be able to furnish readily full information as to <br /> <br />any item included in any account. Each entry shall be supported by such <br /> <br />detailed information as will permit a ready identification, analysis, and <br /> <br />verification of all of the facts relevant thereto; Any such books and records <br /> <br />which support entries to the accounts shall be retained until destruction is <br /> <br />permitted by the Contracting Officer. The books.of account'maintained by the <br /> <br />Contractor and by the United States relating to matters covered by this con- <br /> <br />tract shall be open to inspection snd audit by representatives of either <br /> <br />party at all ~imes dur~ng regular office hours of each. <br /> <br />CLEAN AIR ACT ~ND FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION <br />CONTROL ACT <br /> <br />20. (a) The Contractor agrees as follows: <br /> <br />(1) To comply with all the requirements of Section 114 of <br />the Clean Air Act, as amended (42 V.S.C. 1857, ~~., as amended by Public <br />Law 91-604) and Section 308 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act <br />(33 U.S.C. 1251 et seq., as amended by Public Law 92-500), respectively, <br />relating to inspection, monitoring, entry, reports, and information, as well <br />as other requirements specified in Section 114 and Section 308 of the Air Act <br />and the Water Act, respectively, and all regulations and guidelines issued <br />thereunder before the execution of this contract. <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />Articles 18, 19, and 20 <br />
