(b) If deemed necessary by the Contracting Officer or requested by the Contractor, special inspections of any Project works being operated by the Contractor and of the Contractor's books and records may be made to ascertain the extent of any operation and maintenance deficiencies, to determine the remedial measures required for their correction, and to assist the Contractor in solving specific problems. BOOKS, IlliCORDS, AND REPORTS 19. During the performance of the work pursuant to this contract, the Contractor shall maintain books ot account for this contract separate and apart from any other of its books of account and so keep them and all other books, records, and memoranda which support in any way the entries in such books of account so as to be able to furnish readily full information as to any item included in any account. Each entry shall be supported by such detailed information as will permit a ready identification, analysis, and verification of all of the facts relevant thereto; Any such books and records which support entries to the accounts shall be retained until destruction is permitted by the Contracting Officer. The books.of account'maintained by the Contractor and by the United States relating to matters covered by this con- tract shall be open to inspection snd audit by representatives of either party at all ~imes dur~ng regular office hours of each. CLEAN AIR ACT ~ND FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ACT 20. (a) The Contractor agrees as follows: (1) To comply with all the requirements of Section 114 of the Clean Air Act, as amended (42 V.S.C. 1857, ~~., as amended by Public Law 91-604) and Section 308 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1251 et seq., as amended by Public Law 92-500), respectively, relating to inspection, monitoring, entry, reports, and information, as well as other requirements specified in Section 114 and Section 308 of the Air Act and the Water Act, respectively, and all regulations and guidelines issued thereunder before the execution of this contract. 18 Articles 18, 19, and 20
