Colorado 80302. <br /> <br />hereinafter referred to as the contractor/Contractor. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, authority exists in the Law and Funds have bec:n budgeted, appropriated and otherwise made available and a sufficient <br />unencumbered balance thereof remains available for payment in Fund Number 424 . Contract Encumbrance Number, CI':J:3C,5f and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, required approval, clearance and coordinatic.in have been accomplished from and with appropriate agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 37-60-115 (1)(a), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, the Colorado Water Conservation Board (Board) is authorized to make a continuous <br />study of the present and potential uses of the water resources of the State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, {he Colorado Water Conservation Board recommended this project to the <br />legislature for approval at its January, 1993 meeting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 of Chapter 254, Session Laws of <br />Colorado 1993 (HB93-1273) the State is authorized to undertake a regional study in cooperation <br />with affected agencies of local government and other interested groups concerning options to <br />increase the water supply of the Denver metropolitan area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 of Chapter 254, Session Laws of <br />Colorado 1993, tbe State is authorized to expend not more than four hundred fifty thousand <br />dollars ($450,000) from the Colorado Water Conservation Board construction fund for this <br />purpose; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Contractor has submitted a proposal to the State to conduct a study <br />and prepare a report at a reconnaissance level of several water supply alternatives that may <br />enhance the Front Range water supplies in efficient, practical and environmentally sound ways <br />by (1) creating a technically facilitated planning process among water users, (2) developing <br />analytical capability sufficient for evaluating the water supply yield and determining the <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 Pages <br /> <br />~ <br />
