Project Map - see following page

B. Location
Ish Reservoir is located in Sections 2 and 3, T3N, R69W, Boulder County,
Colorado, and Sections 34 and 35, T4N, R69W, Larimer County, Colorado. The
source of the water supply is Little Thompson River through a filler ditch
(called Ish Inlet) to the reservoir. Ish Reservoir water is primarily supple-
mental, as the majority of the stockholders in the Ish Reservoir Company also
own Highland Ditch Company water and Colorado Big Thompson water. Ish Reservoir
serves approximately 15,500 acres of land located northeast of the reservoir as
shown on the Service Area map in Appendix B page B-1. Ish Reservoir is approxi-
mately four miles north of Longmont and approximately three miles south of
Berthoud.
The elevation of the reservoir is approximately 5100 feet.

C. Climate
Climatological data was obtained from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration and includes mean monthly temperature, frost dates, and precipi-
tation at the Longmont 2ESE station for years 1950 through 1986. The mean
monthly temperature varies from an average low of approximately 270F in January
to an average high of about 720F in July (See Table 1, page 4). Frosts of
280F occurred in the spring as early as April 4 (1977) and as late as May 14
(1953). Frosts of 320F occurred in the spring as early as April 19 (1986) and
as late as June 2 (1951). In the fall, frosts of 320F occurred as early as
September 10 (1962) and as late as October 22 (1963); while frosts of 280F
occurred as early as September 19 (1971) and as late as October 31 (1974). (See
Table 2, page 5). A precipitation summary for 1950 through 1986 is shown on
Table 3, page 6. Average annual precipitation in the study are~ is 13 inches.

-1-

I
L__ " !
