The total estimated cost of the project, including contingencies,

legal and engineering fees and inflation during construction is $7.65

million, as itemized in Table 6. The projected cost increase is based on

recent increases experienced in materials, such as PVC pipe.

Fund requirement schedule

The annual fund requirements by fiscal years for each of the years of

the construction period are shown in Table 7. It is expected that the con-

struction will require two years in that those portions which cross irriga-

tion canals will necessarily need to be constructed during the non-irrigation

season.

Operation, maintenance and replacement costs

I

Operation, maintenance and replacement costs are estimated to be $150,000

for the first full year of operation. This includes administrative costs

plus power costs of approximately $7000. The operation, maintenance and

replacement costs are assumed to increase at the rate of 5 percent per year,

as shown in Table 10.
