will require boring and will be done according to Highway Department

and Railroad Company specifications. Crossings of irrigation canals will

require special care in the compaction of the backfill in order to insure

no canal leakage takes place due to the construction.

Right-of-"ays

I

Wherever possible, the distribution system pipelines will be laid

within existing road right-of-ways. The principal location where this

will not be possible is from the Hay Gulch well field east a distance

of approximately 5-1/2 miles. This area is range land and right-of-way

easements should not be difficult to obtain. Hopefully, the easements

can be obtained in trade for providing stock water along this route.*

Valves

I

Gate valves are recommended to be installed at strategic locations

in the system such that should a break occur a section of line can be

shut off for repair without interrupting service to the rest of the

system.

The amount of water required for this purpose would be very small in com-
parison to the total volume needed to serve the proposed District, there-
fore it has not been specifically included in the estimated water require-
ments set forth in Chapter III.
