I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Alternative No.1: Cost $622,000

Alternative No. 1 is for rehabilitation of the existing dams
to attain the decreed water level of Gage Height 24.0. The dam is
at 3:1 slopes and the location of the spillway is between the two
dams near the east abutment of the West Dam. The total project
cost was estimated at $622,000 and an increase in storage of 1532
acre-feet is realized with the rehabilitation.

The Total Project Cost including interest:

$622,000 x 0.07501 x 40 = $1,866,249

The Cost per acre-foot of water storage gained is:

$1,866,249 + 1532 = $1218 I acre-foot

The annual cost for the 40 year project loan:

$1218 + 40 years = $30.45 I acre-foot I year

The value of the water storage gained:

1532 acre-feet x $1,000 = $1,532,000

If the value of the wate~ is evaluated in terms of the crop
production produced by the ir~igated land versus dry land farming,
the water stored in Reservoi~ No. 2 would be worth $615,910-
$240,638 = $375,272 per yea~ as shown by the analysis in Table
VII-I. Thus the cost of the ~ehabilitation is worth two years of
irrigated crop production. As previously stated this figure
assumes a total loss of ability to irrigate the 3400 acres served
by No.2. This is not the true case but is a good comparison to
show the true worth of water erom a production standpoint.

Alternative No.2: Cost $689,860

/

Alternative No. 2 is for rehabilitation of the existing dams
to attain the decreed max~mum water level of Gage Height 24.0
feet. The dam is at 4:1 upst~eam slopes, 3:1 downstream slopes,
and the spillway at the West pam location. The total project cost
was estimated at $689,860 and an increase in storage of 1532 acre-
feet is realized.

The Total Proiect Cost including interest:

$689,860 x 0.07501 ~ 40 = $2,069,856

The Cost per Acre-foot ot water storage gained is:

$2,069,856 + 1532 = $1351 I acre-foot

VII-3
