,

woodward-CIA

.

features, Field investigations included drilling five test holes from the dam crest to
depths of 80 feet through glacial moraine, Analyses were performed to evaluate the
existing stability and seepage conditions. Various rehabilitation alternatives were
developed and evaluated, and corresponding feasibility level cost estimates were
developed;

Tablachaca Dam, Peru - A 12 million cubic yard landslide was located immediately
upstream of the largest dam and hydroelectric power plant in Peru, and threatened to
block the intake structures. The slide had moved over 6 feet in a single rainy season on
a failure surface 320 feet deep. wee performed geologic mapping, drilling and coring,
installation and monitoring of inclinometers, and a review of seismic conditions. wee
designed and supervised the construction of a series of stabilization measures including
rock bolting, drainage tunnels, construction of a 650,000 cubic yard buttress, and
stabilization of the buttress foundation with compacted gravel columns,

Forest City Bridge, South Dakota - This 4,500 foot long bridge was constructed to cross
the lake impounded by Oahe Dam on the upper Missouri River, and provides the only
river crossing for 50 miles in either direction. Rising lake levels activated a 75 million
cubic yard landslide in weak Pierre shale materials. The slide covers 8,000 feet of
shoreline and reaches 3,500 feet uphill from the abutment of the bridge. wee has
provided investigation, design, and construction observation services for this ongoing
project.

3.2 PROJECf KEY PERSONNEL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

This section contains brief discussions of the experience and qualifications of the key
personnel named in our organization chart, Resumes for all of these individuals are
included in Appendix A.

Mr. Terry Arnold, P.E., wee's project manager for this project, has extensive
experience in geotechnical investigations, analyses and in project management for
embankment dams, including providing design criteria, preparing plans and
specifications, preparing construction cost estimates, and construction inspection on
various projects, Project expenence includes initial site investigation; foundation,
Woodward-Clyde Consultants

23360/PRO.3 12-08-93{8:53am)/RPT

3-8
