<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 139-85 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING STATE CONSTRUCTION FUNDING <br />THROUGH THE COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD FOR THE <br />GREAT WESTERN DAM AND SPILLWAY ENLARGEMENT PROJECT AS <br />AMENDED TO INCREASE STORAGE VOLUME OF GREAT WESTERN <br />RESERVOIR TO 12,000 ACRE-FEET <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Broomfield is the owner of Great <br />Western Dam and Reservoir which is located in Section 7, Township <br />2 South, Range 69 West, 6th P.M., County of Jefferson, Colorado; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Broomfield has previously made applica- <br />tion to the Colorado Water Conservation Board for State con- <br />struction loan funds for enlarging Great Western Reservoir to <br />9,000 acre-foot capacity; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said previous application was approved by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board and construction loan funds <br />authorized in the amount of $2,155,850; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, recent engineering and water rights studies have <br />been completed which indicate a 12,000 acre-foot capacity reser- <br />voir is needed to maximize yield of Broomfield water rights; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Broomfield is proposing an amended <br />project entitled "Great Western Dam and Spillway Enlargementn to <br />provide 12,000 acre-feet of storage in Great Western Reservoir; <br /> <br />Nml, THEREFORE, BE. IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF BROOMFIELD, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the total estimated cost for the "Great Western <br />Dam and Spillway Enlargement" project is $11,054,000. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City of Broomfield is applying to the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board for $5,527,000 in State con- <br />struction loan monies to fund this project. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the City of Broomfield anticipates funding <br />$5,527,000 for the construction of the project. <br />
