The study and report were prepared for the City of
Broomfield by Rocky Mountain Consultants.

The, report sets forth the need for, and the techni ca 1 and econom-
ical feasibil ity of this project. The purpose of the project is to
expand the raw water storage for the City. The dam and spillway
enlargement is necessary to provide additional raw water storage and
increase the firm yield of the existing water rights held by the City
of Broomfield. The reservoir volume will increase from 3,250 to
12,000 acre-feet. The spillway wi 11 be designed to accommodate the
Probable Maximum Precipitation inflow flood to the reservoir. The
normal maximum water surface elevation for the reservoir will be
increased 35 feet to elevation 5640.0 feet. The crest of the enlarged
dam will be at elevation 5647.0 feet (excluding the camber), approxi-
mately 34 feet higher than the present crest elevation.

The estimated construction cost of the project is $10,795,000
(1985 dollars).

-2-

Rev-RMC
