<br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CHAPl'ER VII <br /> <br />MISSOURI HEIGHrS ENLARGEMENT PLAN <br /> <br />Purposes of Develo~ment <br /> <br />The smallest Federal development considered for the Basalt area in- <br />volves the development of local streamf"lows by enlargement of the exist- <br />ing Missouri Heights Reservoir offstream from Cattle Creek. Service un- <br />der this plan is limited by the available water supply. An average of <br />only about 3,500 acre-feet of project water would be provided annually <br />and would be used as a supplemental supply for irrigation and outdoor <br />residential use on about 3,140 acres of land. Minor recreational bene- <br />fits also would be provided. This development could be made singly or <br />in connection with the plans for use of Ruedi Reservoir storage water <br />considered in the previous chapters. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />General view of presently irrigated lands in project area. <br />Numerous hay bales attest to productivity of lands. <br /> <br />Pro,1ect Plan <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The existing Missouri Heights Reservoir would be enlarged to develop <br />excess flows of Cattle Creek for project use.
