This amounts
to approximately $0.70 an acre-foot for total irrigation supply of 6,440
acre-feet.

Outdoor Residential Uses

(

Construction costs and interest during construction for outdoor resi-
dential uses would be repayable by the Basalt Water Conservancy District
and would be repayable with interest over a period of 50 years after water
was first available. It has been assumed that repayment would be accom-
plished by the district entirely with revenues obtained from sale of water
to the water users. It is possible that ad valorem tax revenues also
could be applied toward payment of the costs. The repayment has been
based on uniform annual payments. Since the amount of water used would
gradua.1J.y increase, however, it is likely that a variable repayment plan
would have to be used with smaller annual payments in the early years of
project operation. With a variable plan the interest component of the
cost would be higher than under a uniform annual payment plan. The as-
sumed repayment is summarized below, including payment of annual
operation, maintenance, and replacement charges and the cost of Ruedi
Reservoir water.

District's repayment obligation
Construction costs
Interest during construction (3.649 percent)
Total
Average annual payment required by district
To pay repayment obligation in 50 years
at 3.649 percent
To pay operation, maintenance, and replace-
ment costs
To pay for Ruedi Reservoir water
Total
Cost per acre-foot (rounded)
Y Based on $10 per acre-foot for average amount over
first ~O years.

$8,436,000
488,000
8,924,000

391,000

16,500
Y66,000
473,500
52.00

l

42
