.

.

~

,
"

B.

Rehabilitatioll Alternative No.2: Raise Normal Water level to GH 27.0:!;.
Raising the normal ....ater level to GH 27.0 could require raising the
embankment by 1.0 to 4.0 feet. Based on the reservoir flood hydrology
and the wave run-up in the reservoir, we would estimate the amount of
increased storage caPllcity, evaluate design requirements for enlarging the
existing dams, and P"lpare feasibility level cost estimates for the construc-
tion of the dam enlargements and possible spUlway modifications,

e

C.l , Rehabilitation A1tema1ive No. 3A: Raise NonnaI Water level to GH 30.0:1:.
This dam rehabilitation alternative representS what we understand to be the
reasonable maximum reservoir water level which may be obtainable without
performing a significant relocation and reconstruction of the inlet canal and
river diversion structure. The maximum level of this reservoir storage
increase would be determined in Task 4. Raising the normal water level to
GH 30.0 would POSSibly require raising the dams by 4.0 to 7.0 feet,
Modifications to the outlet works intake lOwer and conduit, and the
spillway, would be required. Based on the reservoir flood hydrology and the
wave run-up in the reservoir, we would estimate the amount of increased
Storage capacitY, evaluate design requirements of raising and enlarging the
existing dams, and prepare feasibility level cost estimates for the construc-
tion of the dam enlargements. and probably spillway and outlet works
modifications,

C.2. Rec:onstruction A1tetllirlive No. 3B: Raise NonneI Water Level to GH
30.0:1:. This alternative would evaluate possible dam sites, design
considerations and feasibility level costs associated with reconstructing one
or more of the JUlesburg dam embankments at the existing or immecfl<lte _
downstream locations as an alternative to raising the existing dams. The ..
increase in potential Storage capaCity due to the relocations would also be
evaluated.

1 2 Reoort. Prepare a report to present the results of the investigations. Included wm
be brief descriptions of the in\leStigations, results and conclusions, and conceptUal
design plans.

This scope presented above is ambitious, but we believe it is necessary in prder to
adClress the District's Questions. In order to provide this information within the proposed
bUdget, we again emphasize that wE! are preparing feasibility level detigns and feasibility
level opinions of probable construction costs,

PROPOSAL
PAGE 4

e
