<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Task 95 - Modify GIS Data Generation Tools and Create New Spatial Data Layers. <br /> <br />Objective: <br /> <br />Allow better integration of HydroBase and spatial data displays by modifying data generation <br />tools and by creating more refined spatial data layers. <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Recent enhancements to StateView integrate HydroBase and GIS data. This is accomplished <br />with a limited number of shape files generated from HydroBase that are used for locational <br />information and linked with HydroBase attribute records. Additional GIS data could be <br />generated using this technique to enhance CDSS applications in addition to StateView. Examples <br />include but are not limited to differentiated precipitation and temperature for climate stations, <br />and historical and real-time streamflow stations. <br /> <br />Approach: <br /> <br />95.1 Evaluate Spatial Data. Evaluate spatial data that could be created from HydroBase <br />considering their potential use in StateView, TSTool, and other CDSS applications, <br />including: climate stations, precipitation stations, etc. Make recommendations to the State on <br />the need for new data layers and the required changes to CDSS software. <br /> <br />95.2 Update Data Generation Tool. Update the existing ArcView tool (HydroBase <br />ShapefileBuilder) and documentation that creates point shape files from HydroBase so that <br />it generates new up to five (5) additional spatial data layers. Update the existing ArcView <br />tool, which currently generates ArcView 3'x, for generating Arc 8 GIS format. <br /> <br />95.3 Generate New GIS Data. Generate up to five (5) new spatial data layers and create or add <br />to existing Arc View/ ArcExplorer projects that present the data. The data and projects will <br />then be packaged for use in StateView, TSTool, StateMod GUI, StateDMI, and other CDSS <br />tools, and independently in other tools that can display shape files. <br /> <br />Deliverables: <br /> <br />95.1 A memorandum describing proposed additional point data layers to be created from <br />HydroBase and their potential for use in CDSS software. <br /> <br />95.2 Updated ArcView project tool and documentation used to create new shape files from <br />HydroBase. <br /> <br />95.3 Updated shape files, ArcView/ArcExplorer projects, and documentation for the new shape <br />files. <br /> <br />Page 17 of 26 Pages <br />
