I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

Sewer Collection System

The proposed sewer system is shown on Map 3 at the rear of this report,

All lines will be constructed of PVC plastic pipe and will be 8-inch diameter
to satisfy the minimum pipe size requirements of the Colorado Department of
Health. Capacity of the lines will be much more than adequate for the design

population and future connections can be made anywhere on the system.

To minimize the number of bores required under paved roads, and to

accommodate extreme changes in elevations, stub lines parallel to main

collection lines are required in a number of places.

It is anticipated that the upstream ends of each line can be constructed

with a cleanout structure rather than a manhole for the present. Future work

can include replacing the cleanouts with manholes to satisfy the Department

of Health criteria.
As shown on Map 3, all of the lines will be installed at a shallow depth.

There are essentially no basements to be served in the area and usual high

groundwater should preclude any future basement construction.

Two lift stations are required to overcome changes in elevation and to

minimize the depth of excavation. Both are planned as wet well type structures

using submerged pumps, to minimize construction costs.

As proposed, the sewer collection system will be constructed only in the

area represented on Map 3. Outlying development along Fox Farm Road south of

Larkspur is too distant and too sparsely developed at present to require a

central wastewater system. Future development may justify the extension of

sewer lines to this area, and the proposed system has been laid out with those

future extensions in mind. The proposed project includes construction of service

connections from the sewer main to the property line. Extension to the house

will be the homeowner's responsibility.

32
