One is the Perry

Park Water and Sanitation District which has three deep wells within two miles

of Larkspur and which also has a new, unused wastewater treatment plant located

approximately two miles north of Larkspur. The option of contracting water and

wastewater services from the PPWS District has been evaluated and is included

in this report.

The other entity with capability of furnishing service to Larkspur is the

Colorado Department of Highways. The Department operates two rest areas on

Interestate 25 immediately east of Larkspur. The Department had intended to

construct a new wastewater treatment plant for each rest area in October,1978.

However, after two meetings between the Larkspur Homeowners Association and the

Department, the Department has decided to modify its plans and construct one

aerated lagoon treatment facility sized to treat the waste water from both rest

areas and from Larkspur. The Department intends to go ahead with this modified

plan and make provisions for Larkspur to connect to the lagoon if and when it

becomes feasible for the community to do so.

6
