pursuant to the Acts of Congress approved June 17, 1902 (32 stat. 388), and

all acts amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto, particularly the Acts

of Congress approved April 11, 1956 (70 stat. 105), and September 30, 1968

(P.O. 90-537), all of which acts are commonly known and referred to as the

Reclamation Laws, between the ,UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, acting by and through

the Bureau of Reclamation, Department of the Interior, herein referred to as

the united states, represented by the W1dersigned =ntracting officer or his

duly authorized representative, and THE STATE OF OOlDRAOO by and through THE

OOlDRAOO WATER OONSERVATION BOARD, hereil) referred to as the state.

WITNESSETH, THAT:

WHEREAS, the United states is engaged in =nstruction of the Dolores

Project in the State of Colorado and Counties of MonteZUll'a and Dolores; and

WHEREAS, the Dolores Project involves various features including a

canal system, irrigation works, pipelines and appurtenant structures referred

to as the Towa= Canal, for which the United states has or will acquire lands

and easements for rights-of-way as authorized by the laws of the state of

Colorado and the laws of the United states with particular reference to the

Act of Congress of August 30, 1890 (26 stat. 371); and
