Box 231 <br />Las Animas, CO 81054 <br /> <br /> <br />Attention: Mr. Dean Smartt, President <br /> <br />Subject: Proposal for Performing the Feasibility Study for <br />Rehabilitation and Improvements to the Fort Lyon <br />Canal Company System <br /> <br />Gentlemen: <br /> <br />We are pleased to submit this proposal for performing the feasibility study <br />for rehabilitation and improvements to the Fort Lyon Canal Company system in <br />accordance with our discussions. The feasibility study will be made following the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board Guidelines to qualify the rehabilitation and <br />improvements for funding in part by a loan from the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board Construction Fund. ' <br /> <br />In general, the services we propose consist of determining the feasibility <br />of rehabil itation and improvements of features on the Fort Lyon Storage Canal <br />and Reservoirs, and the Fort Lyon Canal. <br /> <br />Specifically, our services include the following tasks: <br /> <br />1. Determining the feasibility of rehabilitation and improvements to <br />features on the Fort Lyon Storage Canal and Reservoirs consisting of: <br /> <br />a. Fort Lyon Storage Canal Sluiceway -- Construction of a sluice- <br />way or sedimentation pond to provide more economical handling <br />of sediment than the present expensive dredging; <br /> <br />b. Fort Lyon Storage Canal siphon across Horse Creek -- Replace- <br />ment of two concrete pipes having a combined capacity of <br />about 2,000 cfs with new siphon; <br /> <br />APPENDIX A <br />
