Riprap slope protection is provided for downstream slope between the check
structure and control structure.

The recommended alternative for Oklahoma Check structure consists of removing the existing
structure and replacing it with a new concrete check structure. The components of the new check
structure would have the same dimensions used in the original check structure. The new check
structure would contain two components: an ogee weir control structure regulating the flow in the
Greeley and Loveland canal, and a new dual gate turnout structure diverting flow into a canal lateral.
As shown in Figures IV-4 and IV-S, the control structure would remain 22-foot wide and use an ogee
crest weir to provide flow regulation. The wooden bridge deck would be replaced with a simple span
concrete bridge deck with handrails, supported on either side by 10-foot high abutments, A 10~foot
high wall separates the control structure and the turnout structure along the upstream face. The
turnout structure has two 18-inch slide gates on the upstream face ofa 6-foot wide outlet structure
to regulate flow. The structure is spanned by a 4-foot-wide by 8-foot-long single span concrete
bridge deck with handrail on the downstream side, The bridge is supported by 6-foothigh abutments,

The funding to design and construct Equalizer Dam and Reservoir project is being requested
during the 1998 loan period. Equalizer Dam and Reservoir are owned by the Greeley and Loveland
Company. Therefore the project will be paid for by assessing Greeley and Loveland shareholders and
not Seven Lakes or Lake Loveland shareholders, The summary of the project costs for Equalizer
Dam and Spillway is listed in the following table, The Company is seeking funding from CWCB
for 80 percent of total capital expenses to design and construct Eqlializer Dam and Spillway. The
remaining 20 percent will be paid through water assessments. Construction could begin in September
1998 with completion by November 1998. .

E:\G&LREPOR.
