From the six reservoirs, four
composite models were developed: Westerdoll, Upper and Lower Hoffinans, Heinricy-Boyd-
Horseshoe, and Houts-Equalizer. Lake Loveland hydrology was not included in this study since the
SEO accepted an hydrologic assessment in 1994, These models were used to evaluate the current
adequacy of the reservoirs and spillways against various simulated storms. The models were also
used to analyze the performance of different alternatives against the same simulated storms.

The PMP and design flood study were performed. The SEO hydrologic guidelines were
followed for this analysis. The Colorado SEO requires the design rainfall to be based on the hazard
classification of the dam, For existing class I, II and III dams, the design rainfall would be 75% and
50% of the PMP and 100-year storm, respectively. Table 1II-5 list the hazard classifications for each
of the dams.

E:\G&LREPOR- WPD

14

I"
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I'
I:
Ii
I.
