A new 6" diameter (:t18,200 l.f.) and 8" diameter (:t7,400 l.f.)

buried transmission pipeline would be installed parallel to Colorado State High-

way 62. The treatment plant would be located about 1~ miles north of the diver-

sion site. The storage tank would be located about ~ mile from Town.

The point of diversion under Alternate II would be on Dallas Creek about

2 miles northwest of Ridgway and 4 miles downstream from the Alternate I diver-

sion point. Al ternate II would require pumping through t-1, 000 feet of new 6"

diameter buried transmission pipeline. The diversion would be made through two

wells located adjacent to the Dallas Creek channel. The treatment facilities

and pumps would be located at the diversion site and the storage tank would be

constructed along the transmission line about ~ mile northwest of Ridgway.

Under Alternate III, water would continue to be diverted through the

Ridgway ditch, but 5,280 feet of 6" diameter and 2,500 feet of 8" diameter

buried transmission pipeline would be installed from Lake Otonawanda to the

existing distribution system. The treatment plant arid storage tank would be

located near the existing reservoirs.

Alternate IV is an extension to Alternate III. Alternate IV would divert

flow directly from Beaver Creek and the springs. A gravity flow line would

transmit the water to a point ~ mile above the existing reservoirs. From this

point a pressurized line takes the water to the treatment plant, storage tank

and then to Town.

Alternate IVa (revised) is similar in respect to Alternate IV. Rather

than the more gradual grade followed by Alternate IV, Alternate IVa (revised) is

iv
