There are other governmental

agencies which may participate in the project, namely Economic Development

Administration (EDA), Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD),

Division of Local Government, etc. These entities were chosen because of

their compatibility and close coordination. The figures derived from

Farmers Home Administration and Four Corners are taken from a Letter of

Conditions to the Town of Ridgway. The figures from the Colorado Water

Conservation Board are indicative_of supplemental financing needed from

this agency to make the project feasible. The rate sbhedule is based on

an average consumption of 6,000 gallons per month per residence. While

this estimated usage may not be normal for the Town of Ridgway, the average

annual usage for-the State of Colorado is the parameter used. As noted pre-

viously-in the Single Tap Equivalent (STE), the theoretical equivalent was

used and this will vary from community to community.

In multiplying out the theoretical consumption for 3.5 persons per

residence and 65 gpd per person with an average month of 30 days, one gets

6825 gallons per residence per month. However, owing to Ridgway's number. of

retired persons whose use of water is little, this figure is rounded off to

6000 gallons per residence per month. This figure is also in compliance

with several other communities of Ridgway's characteristics and allows the

Town a little leeway in finances. As better records of actual usage are

gathered, the rate and usage schedule may be adjusted.

38
