WHEREAS. a contract was entered into on June 22. 1988,
Contract Encumbrance Number C-153514 (the Original Contract).
between the State aod the Contractor; and

WHEREAS. foundation grouting was one of the construction
requirements for this project; and

WHEREAS, because of the unusual grout ta~es, the
Construction Firm has to work three shifts SlX days a week to
be able to handle the additional work; and

WHEREAS. because of the additional worKiD9 hours required
of the Constructiop Firm. additional engineering is also
required of the Copsultant; and

WHEREAS, the loan amount of Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars
($700.000) has beeP authorized for this project; and

WHEREAS. the spid loan may be increased bY ". ..such amounts.
if any. as may be justified by reason of. ..changes as required
by final engineering drawings and specifications.. ..": and

WHEREAS. onsite conditions have made changes in engineering
drawings and specifications necessary in order to respond to
the unusual grout takes at the Gurley Reservoir; and

WHEREAS. this additional work will cost the Contractor
additional money to repair the project; and

WHEREAS. the consultant has estimated the total additional
cost for the project to be Five Hundred Thirty-Eight Thousand
Dollars ($538,000), making the total project cost One Million
Two Hundred Thirty,Eight Thousand Dollars ($1,238,000); and

WHEREAS. the contractor. through a Resolution of its Board
of Directors. has agreed to this additional project cost; and

WHEREAS. repayments are in direct proportion to the amount
of money loaned: and

WHEREAS. the Contractor. through the above-mentioned
Resolution. has agreed that it can afford and will make the
additional payments required by this contract amendment.

NOW THEREFORE, it is hereby agreed that:

1. This contract amendment is a supplement to the Original
Contract (Attachment A). which is by this reference yI
incorporated and made a part hereof: and all the terms.
conditions. and provisions thereof. unless specifically
modified herein. are to apply to this contract
