i <br />i <br />CONTRACTOR: DOUGLAS COUNTY WATER Agency Name: Water Conservation Board <br />RESOURCE AUTHORITY Agency Number PDA <br />Contract No. C150038 Routing Number �� � a 1��� (�00 (� � <br />Contract Amount $100,000 . <br />CONTRACT <br />THIS CONTRACT, made this 1 day of August 2001, by and between the State of Colorado <br />for the use and benefit of the Department of Natural Resources, Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board, hereinafter referred to as the CWCB and/or STnTE, and the Douglas County Water Resource <br />Authority, 100 Third Street, Castle Rock, Colorado 80104, hereinafter referred to as the <br />CONTRACTOR. <br />FACTUAL RECITALS <br />A. Authority exists in the law, and funds have been budgeted, appropriated and otherwise made <br />available and a sufficient unencumbered balance thereof remains available for payment in Fund <br />Number 424 Organization YYYY, Appropriation DUG, GBL DUGO, Program WTRC, Object <br />Code 5120, Reporting Category 0038, Contract Encumbrance Number C150038. <br />B. Required approval, clearance, and coordination have been accomplished from and with <br />appropriate agencies. <br />C. Section 37-60-121(1)(b)(IV), C.R.S., authorizes the CWCB to make grants from the CWCB <br />Construction Fund with specific authorization from the General Assembly. <br />D. The CoNrRacTOR is comprised of several public water providers located in Douglas County and <br />South-Central Arapahoe County, Colorado. <br />E. The CorvrR.acTOR, in partnership with the Denver Water Board, the Colorado River Water <br />Conservation District, and Douglas County, intends to conduct a cooperative water supply <br />planning investigation of the south Denver metropolitan area to evaluate the effective and <br />economic development of local available water resources before renewable supplies would be <br />introduced from other areas such as the South Platte River and ultimateiy from more remote <br />sources such as transmountain watersheds (" STUDY "). The total cost of the study will be <br />approximately $1,000,000.00. <br />F. At its November 1999 meeting, the CWCB approved a grant of up to $100,000 from the CWCB <br />Construction Fund to the CoNrRacroR for the STUOV. <br />G. Pursuant to H.B. 00-1419, Section 11, the General Assembly authorized the CWCB to allocate <br />up to $100 ,000 t0 th2 CONTRACTOR YO CAf1dUCt thB STUDY, 811d SP2CIfl2d lh8t th2 CONTRACTOR in <br />consultation with the Denver Water Board, the Colorado River Water Conservation District, <br />Douglas County, and the CWCB, would develop the scope of work for the STUOV. The General <br />Assembly further specified that a STUOV participant agreement would identify a budget approval <br />and peer review process to be used to manage STU�v efforts and ensure the quality of all work <br />products.
