INTRODUCTION

The City of Longmont, Colorado has contracted with Rocky Mountain

Consultants, Inc. to determine preliminary design improvements to McCall Lake.

The State Engineer's Office (SED) in their 1986 and 1987 inspections of McCall

Lake has noted certain deficiencies including:

1) erosion of embankment material,
2) erosion near the spillway, and
3) nonoperable outlet works.

RMC has developed preliminary design measures to correct deficiencies noted

by the SEO in their inspection reports. RMC has also designed several new faci-

lities associated with McCall Lake to more effectively utilize water released

from McCall Lake.

A cost estimate for improvements to existing facilities and new facilities

is provided. A financial analysis was performed to determine the payback sche-

dule for construction.

-1-
