I

I
I

average for 163 days; or supplemental water of 100,000 gallons per

day average for 326 days; or for the 243 days not required to fill

the reservoir, the reservoir in turn would provide an average of

I

134,156 gallons average per day to supplement the present wells. The

shortage from the present wells exist for approximately 90 to 120

I

days each year.

I

On the basis of these pumping and storage requirements, no

I

additional water rights would be necessary. Dove Creek has a

conditional right for 0.38 cubic feet per second or 170 gallons per

minute remaining from their 1951 decrees. This decree could be used

I

I

for the proposed river pumps. If this could be accomplished, it would

not be necessary for Dove Creek to acquire additional early decree

I

water upstream for release to them.

An alternate to pumping all of the required water from the

I

river and a source of supplemental water would be to construct raw

water supply ditches from either Dove Creek, Monument Creek, or

I
I I
I II

possibly from both to collect the water available from these sources.

6.5 square

ditch out of Dove Creek would be approximately 1.2 miles

would pick up water from a drainage area of approximately

miles. A supply ditch out of Monument Creek would be

A supply
long and

II

4.8 miles long and have a drainage area of approximately 7.7 square

miles.

II

I
I
I

IV - 3
