This

high point on the Montezuma Water system at elevation 7,220

located at a point approximately one mile southwest of

of Dolores. The north main is la-inch and runs generally

northwest

3.8 miles where it reduces to an 8-inch line and continues

to Lewis, then reduces to 6-inch and follows Highway 666 north-

westerly to Pleasant View. Approximately three miles south of

pleasant View, the water is run through a booster pump station during

high use periods to provide adequate pressure at Pleasant View.

A new 8-inch line would be needed from pleasant View to Dove

Creek with a pump station approximately three miles south of Dove

Creek since Pleasant View and Dove Creek are at the same elevation.

System Capacity

The capacity of the mainline of the Montezuma Water Company

system to pleasant View was checked based on one-half gallon per

minute per tap flow from this main simultaneously with 150 gallons

per minute extra for Dove Creek and found that the system would

flow these amounts of water. To avoid peak use problems, terminal

storage of approximately 200,000 gallons minimum should be provided

at Pleasant View.

III - 2
