I

I
I

8. Backwash water was estimated to be 2 percent of total system
demand for all months except for April, May and June when the
allowance was increased to 6 percent because of high turbidity.

I

9. An allowance for leakage was estimated using AWWA specifications
based on pressure and number of joints. The total estimated
annual leakage amounted to approximately 0.3 percent of the
total system demand.

I
I

The total annual diversion for the Upper System is estimated to be 24.15
acre-feet and the total annual diversion for the Lower System is estima-
ted to be 257.31 acre-feet. Tables IV-l and IV-2 summarize monthly and
annual water diversions for the existing and future development, and the
Upper and Lower systems respectively.

I
I
I

I
I

The estimated total "existing" and "future" diversions for the Upper
System each include a 0.5 acre-foot per month allowance for irrigation
for the months of June, July, and August. The June, July and August
irrigation allowance for the Lower System includes 0.5 acre-foot ~er month
for the existing Winter Park base area, 1.0 acre-foot per month for the
existing development in the 'lower district, 2.5 acre-feet per month for
the City land, 1.0 acre-foot per month for the Arlberg Club property,
and 2.5 acre-feet per month for the future development in the lower district.

I

I

Thus, the total irrigation demand for both the Upper and lower systems
estimated to be 25.5 acre-feet of the estimated 281.46 acre-feet total
annual diversion. On the Lower System only, the irrigation demand is
estimated to be 22.5 acre-feet of the estimated 257.31 acre-feet total
annual diversion.

I

I

Consumptive use of the "Others" at full projected development of both
the Upper and Lower systems is estimated to be approximately less than
5 percent during periods of no irrigation and can be as high as 25.6
percent during the months of June, July and August. The annual average
is estimated to be approximately 11.4 percent.

I

I

I

:V-l1

I
