The second 8-inch line runs
Westerly and ties in at several pOints to the delivery system in .the Westerly
portion of the Town. In addition, a hydro-pneumatic system, which serves approx-
imately 20 homes in the M. P. Walker Resubdivision, is served by a 6-inch main
directly from the 80,000 gallon tank.

i. The distribution system within the Town consists of approximately
11,100 feet of 8-inch main, 6,630 feet of 6-inch main, 18,200 feet of 4-inch main,
and 1,610 feet of sizes less than 4-inch that serve other areas of Town. The
distribution system is shown on the map thereof inclosed with this report. In
general, the distribution system functions quite well. The history and patterns
of leaks does not indicate there is any particular electrolysis problem although
the system consists of a mixture of cast iron, ductile iron, asbestos concrete,
plastic (PVC) and copper pipe. For the most part, house services are either 3/4-
inch copper of 1/2-inch galvanized pipe.

Chapter III -- Land

The corporate boundaries of the Town of Hayden show a total area of 874
acres of which approximately 490 acres are included in the Golden Meadows Sub-
division. This property is located in section 16 on the South side of the Town
and is currently under development as a residential subdivision with a small amount
of commercial area reserved. At this writing, approximately 15 acres of this de-
velopment has been developed and it is anticipated that, unless growth patterns
change, additional units will be added at the approximate rate of fifty houses per
year.

Soils
The soils generally within the Hayden Valley area are classified as a

-8.
