Mr. John Horton -2- September 30, 1987 Discussion Of Work Scope Work to be completed under item No.1 will include preparation of a project map showing the project location and features, lands to be served, nearest towns or cities; a general description of the location of the project; and an evaluation of climate related factors representativE' of the project area. The project map generally incorporates much of the information assembled and eval uated under work i tE,m No.3. Work under item No. 2 will include assembly of a detailed description of the irrigation company including the history of the organization, laws under which organized, powers and authorities of the organization, financial status, and a description of the organization's assets. This work is generally completed with a significant amount oJ: assistance from the organization. In your case we have assumed that members of the Huerfano-Cucharas Irrigation Co. would assist in assembling the description of the organization and its history, and that your lawyer, Mr. Dick Knudsen of Peterson and Fonda, would provide the basic information regarding the powers and authorities of the organization and the laws under which it is organized. We have also assumed that you will provide us with the most recent report on the financial status of your company which has been prepared by a certified public accountant including a description of the companies assets. Work under item No. 3 will include describing the classification of the irrigated lands served by the company, if available, and the present and future land use, by crops. The land classification information will include, if available from you, a description of the date that surveys were made, specifications for the surveys, and standards for land classes wi th a tabular swrunary of the lands i.l the service area by class and by irrigated or nonirrigated category. The present and future land use information will incl'lde such items as a tabulation of net acreage in agricultural use by crops, including the yields of each of the various crops on the presently irrigated land for each of the past five years. The future land use information will include anticipa~ed net acreage for agricultural use by crops. Land owne.cship information is also required including a tabulation showing number of ownerships of the service area lands. We have ass~ned for purposes of preparing the cost estimates for this work that only available information will be input to the feasibility study report. We have not included any costs to generate the above information. We have also assumed that Huerfano-Cuo:haras Irrigation Co will provide all the available information in a timely fashion for completion of the report by December L, 1987. cp GEOTl!:GHNICAL ENGINEERS INC.
