The spi 11 way intake structure cons i sts of a horseshoe-shaped ogee
crest at elevation 6365. The spillway capacity with the reservoir water
surface elevation one foot below the embankment crest is approximately 15,000
cfs. A stilling basin structure with an invert elevation of 6281 dissipates
the fl ow energy. Riprap on graded beddi ng 70 feet beyond the end of the
spillway in the natural channel controls erosion. A concrete bridge was
constructed across the spillway chute at the dam crest for access to the left
abutment.

The dam was 1 ast inspected by the SEO on July 1, 1986. The structure was
given a satisfactory overall condition rating and is allowed to operate under
full storage. The only :naj or i terns of concern noted duri ng the i nspecti on
were: 11 continuing abutment seepage, and 21 spa11ed concrete in the spillway
chute. Minor erosion and sloughing of the riprap on the upstream face was
also noted. A copy of the State Inspector's report is included in Appendix A.

- 35 -
