The final treatment step is post- <br /> <br />chlorination, which disinfects the water, killing any potentially harmful bacteria. <br /> <br /> <br />Once post-chlorination has been accomplished, the water is pumped to a 2.0 million <br /> <br /> <br />gallon storage tank, where it awaits distribution. The quality of water in the <br /> <br /> <br />District is excellent, consistently well below the permissible limits for organic, <br /> <br /> <br />inorganic and radioactive substances established by the Colorado Department of <br /> <br /> <br />Health and the Environmental Protection Agency. The District has decreed rights <br /> <br /> <br />to 4576 acre.feet per year (af/yr) of water from the various aquifers underlying the <br /> <br /> <br />District property. This amount is more than adequate to serve the total expected <br /> <br /> <br />demand of 2460 afjyr for 2566 households, and other demands described in Section <br /> <br /> <br />II, at full build-out of the District. The District currently serves approximately 498 <br /> <br />existing occupied households. A schedule of water rates is appended (Appendix A). <br /> <br />3. Potable Water Storal!e <br /> <br />At the present time, an existing 2 million gallon storage tank provides storage for <br /> <br />peaking needs and fire fighting requirements of the District. <br /> <br />4. Wastewater System <br /> <br />Customers of the District receive wastewater treatment services from the East Plum <br /> <br />Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility owned by the Plum Creek <br /> <br />Wastewater Authority (PCWA) and operated by Castle Pines Metropolitan District. <br /> <br />Wastewater from residences within the District is conveyed by underground piping <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />Jehn Water Consultants, Inc. <br />
