No.2 was ruled out because regional topography is not conducive for feasibly <br />increasing the reservoir [0 the desired storage volume. <br /> <br />AI/emu/h,t! 1\'0. J was selected, since it is considered to be the least co::itly and most reliable <br />approach of achieving the project design objectives. <br /> <br />Selected Altcrnatiyc <br /> <br />The selected alternative. Alternali~'e No.3, involves construction of a new 83.5.foot high West <br />dam approximately 280 feet downstream of the existing \\'est darn. and removal of the existing <br />structure. The existing east dam will be raised 28 feet. A new outlet \....orks and spillway in the <br />west dam \.','ill also be constructed. <br /> <br />Golder Associates Inc. (Golder) prepared engineering designs and cost estimates for the project. <br />These plans were included with the Colorado Water Conservation Board (eWCB) lo:m <br />application. A copy oflhe C\\'eB loan application is included for reference in Appendix B. The <br />estimated cost of the completed project is $2 million. The cost breakdown is summ::J.rizcd in <br />Table 3. The design report prepared by Golder was also included with the previously submitted <br />C\VCB loan application. <br /> <br />Table 3.
