GENERAL

The Town of Hudson is located in Held County, Colorado, approximately
25 miles northeast of Denver along Interstate Highway 765. The
Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad passes through the Town.
The location and transportation facilities make the community a
desirable location for new residential and industrial growth to
occur.

Hudson is in serious need of improvements to its domestic water
system. The major components of the water system such as the treated
water storage, distribution system, treatment and raw water supply
system are inadequate and in need of improvements to meet existing
and future requirements. A serious deficiency of the system is the
poor quality of water supply from the existing wells serving the
Town. The limitations of the water system have caused water service
problems for the users in the Town and have restricted growth of
the community.

This report discusses the needs of the Town's water system and pro-
poses improvements to upgrade the system.

B. EXISTING WATER SYSTEM

The Town owns and operates its own water system. Water service is
provided to in-town users as ~Iell as a small area adjacent to the
Town. The total number of water services to users is approximately
260.

The source of supply for the water system is from shallow wells.
The Town has two active wells which provide approximately 360 gallons
per minute when both wells are operating.
