LAND CLASSIFICATION <br />Presently irrigated lands to be served by the project usually <br />need not be classified unless adequate information is not otherwise <br />available for the determination ot project payment capacity. <br />All".new lands to be irrigated by the proposed project must be <br />classified in a manner acceptable to the Colorado Water Conserva- <br />tion Board. The applicant must consult with appropriate members <br />of the staff, prior to undertakinq any land classification study, <br />to obtain guidance in establishinq acceptable procedures and stan- <br />dards for obtaining and evaluatinq the required information. <br />Many areas have previously been classified by the Bureau of <br />Reclamation, the Soil Conservatio~ Service, or other agencies. <br />,Where there is such classificatio~ available, arrangements can be <br />made by ~he Colorado Water Conservation Board to make this informa- <br />tion available to the applicant. <br />The application report shoul~ contain, as a minimum, the fol- <br />lowing information concerning the land classification survey: <br />1.) Date surveys were made ~nd by whom. <br />2.) Specifications for surveys, including map type and <br />scale, number of test holes per section, depth of <br />holes, number of samples taken, number and types of <br />chemical and physical a~alyses .and field testing <br />made. <br />
