Prepare a vicinity map of the Overland Ditch and Reservoir System area by
photo-reduction of 1:21i,OOO scale USGS topographic sheets.

2. Delineate the Overland Ditch and Reservoir System and locate other ditches,
reservoirs and gaging stations on the North Fork Gunnison River tributaries
intercepted by the Overland system.

3. Compile water rights data, historic streamflow data, diversion records,
irrigated acreages, and other physical data required for analyzing the
hydrologic operation of the drainage basins intercepted by the Overland
system.

Ii. Delineate on the maps an operating model of the hydrological area supplying
the Overland Ditch and Reservoir System.

5. Estimate the theoretical consumptive use and irrigation demands for the
existing Overland Ditch and Reservoir System utilizing the same methodology
described under Subtask 2.8.

6. Make a field reconnaissance of the Overland Ditch and Reservoir System and
meet with the District liO Commissioner, Overland Ditch and Reservoir
Company officials and shareholders, and Western Engineers to verify in
general the locations, areas of use, historic water use, operating conditions of
the system, plans for rehabilitation of the reservoir, and other basic data
compiled for the evaluation.

7. Evaluate the operation of the existing Overland Ditch and Reservoir to
determine the extent available water is utilized and identify opportunities to
increase the water utilization through improved management.

II-ll

Revised 9/23/1985
