This, divided by 500 taps, gives a maximum day usage of about 1,150
gallons per day per dwelling unit (gpd/du) or per tap,

Winter day demands range from 350 to 720 gpd/du based on WTP records. The higher
demands occur during the coldest days of the year and are probably attributable to
fixtures left running to prevent freezing of water pipes.

Assuming that the 350 gpd/du figure above is representative of in-house summer day
use, this amount can be subtracted from the 1,150 gpd/du figure to estimate maximum
day irrigation demand: 1,150 - 350 = 800 gpd/du,

As provided in the Gamba report, meter records for 18 selected residences in Silt for the
years 1989 to 1994 by quarter (some quarters missing) indicate total annual average
usage of about 115,000 gallons per dwelling unit per year with an average irrigation
season (April 15 to October 15) demand of 483 gpd/du and an average non-irrigation
season demand of 145 gpd/du,

4
